Disclaimer colours, marked with a *D refers to specific, typically dark or heavily pigmented, shades of colours in brands such as Corian, Tristone and Durasein. This means those types of colours are more prone to showing scratches, dirt, and daily wear and tear. Because of their high-maintenance nature, manufacturers issue a "disclaimer" notifying consumers that these colours are not recommended for high-use, horizontal areas like kitchen countertops.

Manufacture and fabrications warranties are void with all disclaimer colours.

Higher Maintenance

Dark, solid, or glossy colours will show everyday wear and tear, such as scratches, dust, and stains, far more easily than lighter or textured, patterned colours.

Not a Product Defect

The increased visibility of scratches and marks on these colours is considered a characteristic of the material, not a defect. Therefore, such wear is generally not covered by the 10-year warranty.

Best Use Cases

These colours are best suited for areas with low contact, such as vertical surfaces, exteriors or as accent/inlay pieces, rather than main workspace countertops.

"Deep Colour" Exception

While many dark colours are disclaimed, Corian’s "Deep Colour" series often uses proprietary technology to improve durability and reduce the visibility of marks compared to older, dark, non-disclaimed colours.
